Shortly before midnight on Saturday, Oct. 26, Stafford County Fire and Rescue units were alerted to a fire in the 500 block of Wyne Drive, near Warrenton Road in Falmouth, by an ambulance that was returning from the hospital and spotted it.

Additional units were called to the area and upon arrival minutes later, they found three detached buildings, including a chicken coop, on fire.

The flames were quickly knocked down, with "minor impact to the adjacent residences," though there was substantial damage.

No injuries were reported, though multiple chickens did not make it, while some others survived, according to officials.

The cause and origin of the fire is now under investigation by the Stafford County Fire Marshal's Office.
